Family firm network strategies in regional clusters: evidence from Italy

Abstract Knowledge networks in regional clusters are fundamental to support innovation and local development. Within clusters, family firms key creating business opportunities supporting the establishment of inter-organizational networks. Yet, their role within for knowledge transfers is still not well understood, especially comparison with non-family firms. This paper applies Exponential Random Graph Models (ERGMs) network data collected from Parabiago cluster, one most important Italian footwear contribute a better understanding strategies We identify distinct associated cluster firms, accounting different exchange types: technological, market, managerial.
